After issues with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Alistair Overeem’s fight with Brock Lesnar at UFC 141 is on. Dana White made the announcement via his twitter, and the NSAC also confirmed the fight will go ahead. Overeem had issues with the NSAC, and was granted a conditional license. The NSAC requested samples from both fighters under their protocol for ‘Out of competition drug testing.”
The request came for the tests on Nov. 17, 2011, and both fighters had 72 hours to comply with the procedure. Lesnar was able to submit his test, but the test Overeem submitted after the dead line didn’t meet the requirements and standards. Overeem sighted miscommunication within his camp as to why he was late submitting, and the difficulties of getting the procedure done in Holland. Overeem moved his camp back to Holland after his mother’s health issues took a turn for the worse.

The NSAC granted him a conditional license. The conditions being he fly to the UK and get a test done by an accredited testing lab, and he will also be required to take 3 additional tests. One test when he gets to Las Vegas for his fight, and two more random tests with in 6 months of the bout. The NSAC has announced that Overeem has passed his first drug screen, and that he will be tested when he gets to the states for the fight. We were also told that the results from the second test will be available before the fight happens. Although it is uncertain if they would stop the fight at that point.
