Posted on January 29, 2012 by John Petit
The UFC returned to FOX, and to Chicago, on Saturday for UFC On FOX: Davis Vs. Evans. A sold out crowd of 17, 500 gathered for the event at the United Center and got to see some great fights. In the main event Rashad Evans dominated Phil Davis for 5 rounds and took a 50-45 decision. With the win Evans has earned a shot at current champion, and former team mate, Jon Jones. The match is rumored to take place in April in Atlanta.
In the co-main event Chael Sonnen defeated Michael Bisping by unanimous decision. The fight was a close one, and even UFC President Dana White said he thought Michael Bisping won the fight on his scorecard. The win for Sonnen sets him up with a rematch against current champion, and number 1 pound for pound fighter in the world, Anderson Silva. That fight is rumored to take place in June in Silva’s home country of Brazil. Although Sonnen dominated Silva through most of the fight, Silva submitted him in the last minute and a half of a 25 minute bout.
