Posted on November 28, 2011 by John Petit
The UFC held their press conference to start the ball rolling on the press for the UFC’s first trip back to Japan since UFC 29, 2000. They also announced the remaining fights for the card, and the whole card can be seen below.
The main event will feature Frankie Edgar, defending his lightweight belt for the 3rd time, and former WEC champion Benson Henderson who won the opportunity by defeating Clay Guida. The co-main event will be Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Ryan Bader. Jackson, who fought frequently in Japan for Pride had been lobbying the UFC to get on the card. The rest of the card is littered with Japanese standouts like Yushin Okami, Kid Yamamoto, Yoshihiro Akiyama, and Takanori Gomi.
The event will actually take place in Japan on a Sunday because of the time difference, but will air in the United States on Saturday.
