Around The UFC:
FTC Investigation Over, No action is needed.
After Zuffa (parent company of the UFC) purchased Strikeforce many UFC detractors began claiming that they have created a monopoly. They sort of had a point, albeit a very loose one, as they had purchased the WEC years ago and eventually folded the whole thing in their roster. The FTC felt that they should look into the matter, and have been investigating the claims almost ever since. That investigation in now over. The FTC released a letter today saying the investigation was close, FTC secretary Donald S. Clark wrote “Upon further review of this matter, it now appears that no further action is warranted by the commission at this time. Accordingly, the investigation has been closed.” The letter also goes on to say that they reserve the right to take action later, but as of right now it is done. The letter said in conclusion “The Commission reserves the right to take such further action as the public interest may require.”
UFC On FOX 2 Ratings
The fights are over, the cuts have been stitched, and sore limbs are on ice. However, the FOX tv events aren’t about pay per view, they are about ratings. The UFC On FOX 2 card took place in Chicago, IL this past Saturday in front of a sold out crowd at the United Center. The top markets for UFC on FOX 2 were Las Vegas, Louisville, Indianapolis, Greenville (N.C.) and Knoxville. Fox executives released the ratings breakdown for the main card, and they went as followed.
